First seek the counsel of the Lord

Seek his kingdom. … Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. … A future awaits those who seek peace. … Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. … Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.

Plans are established by seeking advice. … The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. … The discerning heart seeks knowledge.

Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. … No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. … I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. … Love is not self-seeking. … I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. … Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you. … Whoever seeks good finds favor. … By myself I can do nothing; for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. … To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
