Handel’s Messiah – 5

The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those that published it … How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things … But I say, “Have they not heard?” Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing! The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed saying, “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall have them in derision … Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron: thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessel.

Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth … The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever … KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS … and he shall reign for ever and ever .

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. Though worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see GOD … But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.
