My Defense

You are my strength; you, God, are my fortress.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior. … The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. … Blessed are all who take refuge in him. … Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.

We say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” … Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. … The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? … As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore. … Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. … The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
