Our Name

To the one who is victorious, I will give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

To them I will give a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever. … You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. … Praise God that you bear that name. … The Lord knows those who are his and everyone who confesses the name of the Lord. … To those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours. … And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. … Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. … Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. … You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. … Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. … For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. … A good name is better than fine perfume. … Your name is like perfume poured out. … I am pleased with you and I know you by name.
