The Holy Spirit Guides

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. … And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. … The Spirit of truth—the world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. … The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. … For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. … So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. … Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. … And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. … For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. … If by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
