Take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes delight in his people .

Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things

Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth. … Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him

How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.

Blessed are all who take refuge in him

Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. … But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress

I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely. … I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” … Lord, my

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble

The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? … The Lord is … my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent people you save me.

Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you

Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help. … God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. … With us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.

The Lord himself goes before you

The Lord himself … will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

First seek the counsel of the Lord

Seek his kingdom. … Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. … A future awaits those who seek peace. … Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. … Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.
